Hello Everyone
I've been absent on here for a while and I apologize.
Being a Freshman at University of Waterloo has kept me very busy as anyone who is in the CS program can attest. The programming language here is Scheme, a derivative of LISP. LISP is a function programming language which means that everything can only be done in one step. Any data is almost always as soon as it's calculated, is then passed into the next step. This makes for very short code, but very challenging. You want a challenge? Learn LISP.
I hope everyone here is doing well and I hope it stays that way.
Also if anyone has the D3 beta, message me and maybe we can play.

Alright it's epic.
The story is pretty short still and only took me about 8-9 hours but the game mechanics really make up for it. Highly Recommend.

Python vs Java
Trying to read excel files then upload to a server melted my brain, I needed a break from that program. I then remembered this comic http://xkcd.com/710/. The basic concept of this is as such: take any number and if it is even divide by 2, if odd multiply by 3 then add 1. Repeat with the new number until you reach the number 1. Then I thought that I could do this as a comparison between how long it takes me to write the program in java and in python. I've been programming in Java for almost 4 years now. I know the syntax like the back of my hand, python I know a little bit of. So I did the comparison and my results are such:
